This is an artist's sketch of the Legendary Flying Gazzaniga's at a 1936 Grand Circus held in Gary, Indiana. The legend consists of Louisa and Larry Gazzaniga, two college sweethearts who met in their local town and fell madly in love. Their relationship was not approved of by their parents, so the eloped. Without a place to live, they struggled for several months until eventually their charms and charisma won them positions with the Barnum and Bailey circus as cleaning crew. Desiring a solid lifestyle, they took the degrading positions and eventually worked their way up to the level of trapeze artists while practicing on the ropes while they were supposed to be cleaning after the show. They are now truly happy.
